Thursday March 15th 2018, 7 PM at NVIT: Don Gayton – Fire Ecology in Southern BC.

Don is a well-known ecologist who has worked on the roles that fire (accidental and intentional) has played in shaping our environment over the past centuries. How did Indigenous people work with fire before the arrival of Europeans? Why was 2017 such a bad year for wildfires? Don has explanations for these and many other questions about wildfires in our area. Not to be missed.

Merritt Health & Wellness Fair

For many individuals, health and wellness roadblocks often come down to one key factor - ACCESS! What is available? Where is it available? Who do I contact? And whether you are new to the community of Merritt, or a long-term resident,it can be easy to miss out on key services that can improve your quality of life. But, there is a solution to this.

We are pleased to welcome you to be a part of the ‘Merritt Health & Wellness Fair’. This event, Saturday, Feb 3rd, 2018, 9am-12:00pm, will bring together individuals, organizations, and businesses in order to showcase their products and/or services that contribute to a healthier community. Please note that this event will be FREE to the public.

By coming together in one location, Merritt community members will be able to explore the services available to support their physical, mental, emotional, social, financial, sexual, and spiritual health. We, as vendors, will in turn be able to share and collaborate with each other to better advocate for an all-encompassing, approach to health and well-being.

We’d also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and support a local non-profit that contributes much to the health and well-being of our community. We invite you to bring non-perishables or cash to the event to donate towards the Nicola Valley & District Food Bank. Join us, be a part of the movement!
