Merritt Community Choir Start-Up

    The fall session of Merritt's adult community choir will begin on Monday, September 18th, at 7:00 PM at Trinity United Church. Regular practices will be on following Mondays at a location yet to be determined. Watch for updates! Accepting new members for this session up to first week in October. If you enjoy singing and working on choral music skills in a fun and friendly setting, this is for you! Nicola Valley Film Society presents “LION”  Rated G on Monday, September 18th at 7:00 pm. at the NVIT LECTURE THEATRE.  Tickets are $5.00 at the Door and Memberships are $2:00 for the 6 films in the 2017/2018 season.  At this screening Season Tickets are available.  Parking is FREE and there is no food or drink allowed in the theatre.

“LION”  is based upon the true story “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierley.  Five year old Saroo gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family.  Saroo must learn to survive in Kolkata before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple.  Twenty-five years later, armed only with a handful of memories, his unwavering determination and a revolutionary technology known as GoogleEarth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.
