BC Ambassadors Pageant will take place at the Merritt High School on July 21& 22 at 6:00pm. 

The British Columbia Ambassador Program is open to young men or women who have held an Ambassador or a Royal title in British Columbia. Candidates must be 17 years old and not over the age of 24 by December 31, 2017. The 2017 British Columbia Ambassador Program will be held in Merritt, BC from July 19-22 with public performances on Friday, July 21 & Saturday, July 22, 2017.

Join Art Walk Artist Jean Kiegrel for the Stick Man Challenge! What is it you ask?
This is especially for all those people who say "I only draw stick people." In less than 10 minutes, Jean Kiegerl will teach you the secret known to artists since the Middle Ages and recently explained by modern brain research.

Art Walk Artist 6 - Jean Kiegrel will be on location for a Meet the Artist Day this Monday, July 24th from 1- 3pm Community Police Office 2026 Granite Ave.

The Nicola Valley Community Arts Council is working with Corbett Lake Lodge to present a series of Paint-in Activities. Corbett Lake Lodge is 15 minutes east of Merritt on, Hwy. 97C, Merritt, BC. Paint-Ins will consist of the following:
- Only 15 participants per day and the $25 fee which include lunch.
- Self-directed outdoor painting in this beautiful location (not a workshop)
- Dates are July 25, August 15 and August 29 at scenic Corbett Lake Lodge (photo attached)
- Events run from 10 am to 4 pm with luncheon served at noon in the dining room
Registration, for specific days or all three, is handled online from the NVCAC website - www.nicolavalleyartscouncil.com, scroll to the Coming Events and click on the Online Registration link and register through our CanadaHelps.org website.
“This is a great chance for local artists and others to paint together in a beautiful location. It is not a workshop, but whenever artists get together we automatically share ideas, tips, advice and compliments. I love that it comes with lunch in the Lodge, which is also a back-up painting location in case of weather issues.” Jean Kiegerl

Now in our 35th year, the NVCAC has provided an array of programs and activities for residents of Merritt and the Nicola Valley including the Art Walk, and the Courthouse Arts Gallery. Our Courthouse Arts Gallery is located at 1840 Nicola Ave and is open Thursday to Saturday noon – 6pm open extended hours in July for Art Walk are Wednesdays and Sundays10am-2pm.

Choosy Marching with family

Tuesday, Aug. 8 – Active Story Time 

Each session is centered around a children’s story book followed with physical activities based on the storyline.

The activities encourage the development of movement skills, improvisation and creativity.

Happening every Tuesday evening throughout July and August 6:30pm-8:30pm. We encourage you to bring your own lawn chairs for seating.
