Courthouse Arts Gallery Exhibition “The Poetic Language of Landscape”

The Courthouse Arts Gallery is welcoming a new visual arts Exhibition this month.

Three BC artists: Patricia Peters, Cathy Stewart and Beverley Biddulph will be showcasing their art which will open with a reception on Saturday, May 6, from 4-7pm. The show concludes June 3rd.

Patricia is available for an interview. Please contact her directly at 604-847-0357

About the show:

Patricia Peters has exhibited at our Arts Gallery before. She loves the Nicola Valley and enjoys painting in the area. Patricia says: “The poetic language (referred to in the title) reminds us of a universal language, understood by all, old and young, global symbolism. It may be the common scenes that you are familiar with but… emphasized in colour or simplicity that can stir one’s memories or connections to the land.Evoking a feeling perhaps more than a particular place.”

Cathy Stewart is “inspired primarily by Mother Nature,” in her art and, “when work is going well, I am lost in my canvas, oblivious of time, immersed in a meditative trance of creative joy. I feel peaceful and fulfilled. I have come to value my hours of painting as compelling and essential, giving me balance and deep satisfaction…”

We hope to see you at our Opening Reception, May 6th 4-7pm. Exhibition May 6-June 3. Gallery hours Thursday to Saturday, 12-6pm, 1840 Nicola Avenue.

An announcement regarding a Painting Workshop with Patricia Peters, planned for June 3rd for individuals wishing to sign up please contact Jano.
